Cristiano Ronaldo returned in Real Madrid’s starting lineup after serving a five-match ban picked up for a combination of red card and pushing the referee during Spanish Super Cup clash with Barcelona.
But his return didn’t go as he probably had planned, with Los Blancos suffering a shocking 1-0 defeat to Real Betis at Santiago Bernabeu.
It was clear that the Portugal international was far from his best, as none of his 12 shots on goal didn’t finish on the net.
However, he might be in hot water again after he appeared to stamp a Betis defender during the match.
In the second half, Ronaldo lost control of the ball while he ran at Aissa Mandi.
And when Betis star slided to deny him possesion, Ronaldo stepped on him.
The referee didn’t see the incident, but he might be in trouble if Spanish football authorities chose to investigate the moment.
