The Spain international has impressed with the Catalans in the last two years.
But Barcelona could lose him for a low price, with his release clause being around 40million euros.
Roberto’s current contract with the Blaugrana expires in the summer of 2019, and there’s no signs that there have been advanced talks to sign a new one.
Barca wants to extend his contract until 2022 and put a 400million euros release clause on his head.
Reports from Spain suggest that Real Madrid are ready to pay the player’s clause to bring him at Santiago Bernabeu.
But the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in his services.
He has attracted interest from italy also, with Juventus monitoring his situation.
According to reports, the negotiations have stalled because the player’s agent has demanded a higher wage for his client and his release clause to be half lower.
Remains to be seen what will Barca say to these demands.
