Dani Ceballos joined Los Blancos from Real Betis for €16.5 million (R236 million) in July but has since failed to live up to expectations at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He has only played 688 minutes for Zinedine Zidane’s side and completed just two Copa del Rey games for the club.
After coming on for a mere 29 seconds in Real’s recent 3-1 win over Leganes on Wednesday, Ceballos was left fuming and his relationship with coach Zidane has taken a sour turn.
According to El Chiringuito, the 21-year-old, who starred at the UEFA U21 European Championship last year, winning the Player of the Tournament award, wants to leave the club.
It is claimed the Spanish giants denied Ceballos a transfer in the January transfer window, but the player now wants to force a move to Liverpool after the season.
At the Reds, the central midfielder could replace Emre Can, whose contract is running out in June, with reports suggesting the Germany international is close to joining Juventus on a free deal.
