Having opened the coffers to sign on Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho in the 2017/18 season, the Catalan club may have to trim their squad if they are to dive back into the transfer window ahead of the next campaign.
Spanish publication Sport recently compiled a five-man list of stars who could be on their way out of the club in this window, which includes some fringe players, who have been mainly used off the bench this season.
Midfielder Denis Suarez is one of those players whose future seems uncertain, especially considering the long period of time he was frozen out of the team earlier in the campaign.
The 24-year-old featured in just 18 LaLiga games for the Blaugrana, and appeared in just 27 matches across all competitions in 2017/18.
Portuguese international Andre Gomes is another who is likely to be shipped out soon, after yet another disappointing campaign in which he played little football.
The former Valencia midfielder was even snubbed for Portugal’s 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, and admitted his time at the Catalan giants as been a nightmare a few months back.
Striker Paco Alcacer may seek a transfer due to his lack of playing time, along with former Sevilla winger Aleix Vidal. The 28-year-old was set to leave in January this year but decided to fight for a place at Barca, a move that did not exactly pay off.
Also included on the list is French left-back Lucas Digne, who many clubs are said to be after. Due to his lack of first-team football, a move away may be best for his career too.
