The Brazilian became the third highest paid star at the Camp Nou after putting pen to paper on a contract that will see him receive £240 000 (R4 million) a week, as reported by Sport.
Only Luis Suarez with £290 000 and Lionel Messi, who reportedly signed a new £500 000 deal in December, earn more than the 25-year-old, according to Total Sportek.
Coutinho replaced Ousmane Dembele as the Blaugrana’s new record signing, and the former Borussia Dortmund winger sits in fourth place in the club’s salary ranking, pocketing £220 000 weekly.
Sergio Busquets completes the top five with his £180 000 wage, followed by Gerard Pique and Andres Iniesta, who both reportedly earn £165 000 a week.
Ivan Rakitic, Paulinho and Jordi Alba also receive at least £100 000 a week, which means Barcelona need to trim their wage bill and sell a few players this month.
Arda Turan, Gerardo Deulofeu and Rafinha are understood to be the closest to exits, but Andre Gomes and Aleix Vidal could also be allowed to leave for the right price, while Javier Mascherano is believed to be close to a big-money move to China.
