Isco has only started five league games this season but Madrid have a better win ratio in those matches (60%) than they do when he hasn’t featured from the off (53.3%) in La Liga this season.

​Chelsea have reached an agreement with Juventus over the January transfer of Gonzalo Higuain, Goal understands, with the Argentine's loan deal with AC Milan set to be cut short.

The deal will see the Blues handed an option to buy the striker outright for £32.5 million (€36m) upon the completion of a six-month loan, with a series of performance related bonuses being paid to Juventus on the basis of goals scored and appearances.

Higuain and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri have been pushing for a reunion since the Italian took the reins at Stamford Bridge and it appears now that the pair will finally get their wish after talks between the Premier League side and the Serie A champions.

The 31-year-old was left on the bench for Milan's Supercoppa Italiana loss to Juventus on Wednesday evening in Saudi Arabia, with Rossoneri boss Gennaro Gattuso attributing a fever to the forward's absence from the starting eleven.

Higuain had earlier missed a photo opportunity to receive treatment as talks continued behind the scenes, Milan director Leonardo having stayed in Italy to work on the San Siro side's transfer matters - Genoa's Krzysztof Piatek is the club's main target to replace the outgoing Higuain.

But while the Argentine's move to London is all but finalised, the deal will be paused until Alvaro Morata's future is solidified, as talks over a move away from Chelsea continue.

Atletico Madrid remain at the head of the pack for the Spaniard's signature as Sevilla have pulled out of the race, but have yet to come to an agreement over the cost of a proposed loan arrangement, with an option to buy and wage contributions still being thrashed out.

Chelsea are also looking to offload Michy Batshuayi – valued at £40m ($51m) – on a permanent basis, though the most interested party, Monaco, had been hoping only to secure the Belgian's services on loan.

Monaco have agreed a deal to take over Batshuayi's loan spell with Valencia , but his parent club are exploring their options and have offered the striker to a variety of clubs, with Everton interested in a move for the 25-year-old.

The Toffees' valuation of Batshuayi falls well short of Chelsea's asking price, however, as the Merseyside club look to sign their man for around £18m ($23m).

Chelsea are also looking to sign a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, now at Monaco, and are locked in talks with Zenit for Leandro Paredes for what might be their only other incoming signing in January.

​Chelsea have been tipped to offer £70m to Real, threatening the club record fee they paid for Kepa Arrizabalaga in summer, while Isco himself would be offered a lucrative long-term contract until the summer of 2023 worth £250,000-per-week.

Spending big money on ​Isco to help Hazard thrive could well be Chelsea's way of getting their star man to stay. Hazard is currently due to be out of contract at the end of next season and has made little secret of his desire to join Real Madrid.

If no new contract is agreed by the end of this season, it may be that Chelsea are forced to offer the player to the highest bidder in the summer to ensure they still receive a sizeable payday, before his transfer value begins to plummet as he heads towards free agency.

​N'Golo Kante has signed a new contract at Chelsea, the club have confirmed.

The France international has committed to the Blues for the next five years, having been a revelation at Stamford Bridge since his move to the club from Leicester City in 2016.

Goal understands that Kante's new deal includes a weekly wage of £290,000, with the Blues keen to ward off potential suitors in the midfielder.

His consistency and influence has seen a host of clubs show an interest in him, most notably Paris Saint-Germain, but Kante has little interest in moving back to the city where he grew up.

Kante has won the Premier League and the FA Cup since joining the Blues, having also won the title during his spell at the Foxes.

"I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come," he told the club's official website.

"Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about.

"I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time."

The 27-year-old has made over 100 appearances for the club, and has also won several individual awards, becoming Chelsea Players' Player of the Year in 2016-17 and Chelsea's Player of the Year in 2017-18. He was also Premier League Player of the Year in 2016-17.

A member of France's World Cup-winning squad, too, he played every game as Les Bleus were victorious in Russia.

Marina Granovskaia, Chelsea's Club Director, added: "We are delighted N’Golo has signed a new contract and sees his long-term future with Chelsea. When he arrived, we knew we had signed a special player but he has astounded everybody with his tireless and unselfish displays.

And despite the London club’s willingness to hand Hazard a £300,000-a-week deal, the forward has yet to indicate he will put pen-to-paper.

It has been reported that Hazard will instead wait for Real Madrid to inform him whether or not they intend to launch a bid to sign him in the coming summer.

Speaking to journalists ahead of Belgium’s game with Iceland in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday, Hazard has once again stated that he is not thinking about a move right now and that he is just concentrating on the rest of the season with Chelsea.

"I’m only thinking about Chelsea now," he told Belgian broadcaster Sporza.

"The competition lasts seven or eight months, after that I'll see what happens."

"The coach has the same football philosophy as I. He always thinks about the ball."

"How we as players think about football, that is also his way of thinking."

"If you see how Napoli play, it's thanks to Maurizio Sarri."

"His style is now reflected in Chelsea, he also has players who fit into the system."

"So yes, we're very happy, we play football well."

In the mean time however, as long as Hazard keeps performing to the bestow his ability for the Blues, fans and Sarri cannot ask for more.

Some players have been known to go on strike of fail to perform when speculation mounts over a transfer elsewhere, but Hazard is unwavering.

That is the theory posited by ​Mundo Deportivo anyway. Regardless of whether they get out of the group stages or not, ​Tottenham will fight tooth and nail to keep their star striker and Daniel Levy is a ruthless negotiator.

It is only four months since Kane signed a new six-year contract to the tune of £200,000 so it would take a huge offer to prise him away from Spurs.

Kane said earlier this week that ​he wants to try and rival the goalscoring records of ​Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Whether he feels Tottenham can match that ambition remains to be seen.

​Liverpool and Chelsea are in danger of missing out on a top summer transfer target after Real Madrid entered the race to sign the in-form star.

AC Milan winger Suso is emerging as one of European football’s most in-demand stars on the back of a brilliant campaign so far for the Serie A giants.

The 24-year-old Spaniard has has established himself as a star at Milan, having been allowed to leave Liverpool in January 2015, and has the most assists in any of the top five European leagues (7) so far this season. He has also scored four times, meaning he has 11 combined goals and assists in 10 Serie A matches.

And with a €38m release clause in his contract becoming active for foreign suitors in the summer, Suso will likely have his pick from some big clubs who are ready to come calling.

According to reports on Thursday, Chelsea boss Sarri has identified the in-form Spain winger as “the perfect signing for his side” with Calciomercato claiming the Blues hierarchy have already established contact with the player’s agent over a summer switch.

The 24-year-old has also been regularly linked with a return to Liverpool, but despite speaking of his affection towards the Merseysiders, he appears content with life at the San Siro.

However, Italian sports broadcaster SportMediaSet now suggests Real Madrid are readying an offer to lure the former Cadiz youngster back to Spain.

They claim Real president Florentino Perez has eyes on the Spaniard’s release clause, which he believes is a bargain and represents better value for money than the likely £100m fee Eden Hazard would set him back if he were to prise him from Chelsea.

And if they successfully managed to prise Suso from Milan, that would leave Real free to use the money to lure the likes of Kylian Mbappe or Neymar to the club, with the PSG pair also regularly linked.

However, the report also claims Milan are working to secure their playmaker a new contract that would increase Suso’s exit clause to £52.6m (€60m) – a fee which, on his current form, is unlikely to deter Europe’s big spenders.
