This is according to Don Balon, who are stating that the Spanish giants have turned their attentions to Courtois after they ruled out a move for Alisson, and that negotiations are at an “advanced” stage.
The news outlet are also stating that the player is very eager to secure a move back to Spain as this is where his family lives, and that Real are looking to get a deal done for the player after the World Cup.
The Daily Mail have stated previously that the Blues would be looking for around £50M (€56M) for the Belgian international, a price that would be a steal considering the player is one of the best in the world in his position.
Courtois has been a shining star for Belgium so far this World Cup, with the player’s performances going a long way to helping the club book their place in the semi finals.
The former Atletico Madrid loanee has also done very well during his time at Stamford Bridge, with the shot-stopper managing to keep a total of 58 clean sheets in 154 appearances, a fantastic record.
Real look to be closing in on a move for Courtois, who would be a signing that would seriously improve the clubs backline going into next season.
