​Chelsea have reached an agreement with Juventus over the January transfer of Gonzalo Higuain, Goal understands, with the Argentine's loan deal with AC Milan set to be cut short.

The deal will see the Blues handed an option to buy the striker outright for £32.5 million (€36m) upon the completion of a six-month loan, with a series of performance related bonuses being paid to Juventus on the basis of goals scored and appearances.

Higuain and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri have been pushing for a reunion since the Italian took the reins at Stamford Bridge and it appears now that the pair will finally get their wish after talks between the Premier League side and the Serie A champions.

The 31-year-old was left on the bench for Milan's Supercoppa Italiana loss to Juventus on Wednesday evening in Saudi Arabia, with Rossoneri boss Gennaro Gattuso attributing a fever to the forward's absence from the starting eleven.

Higuain had earlier missed a photo opportunity to receive treatment as talks continued behind the scenes, Milan director Leonardo having stayed in Italy to work on the San Siro side's transfer matters - Genoa's Krzysztof Piatek is the club's main target to replace the outgoing Higuain.

But while the Argentine's move to London is all but finalised, the deal will be paused until Alvaro Morata's future is solidified, as talks over a move away from Chelsea continue.

Atletico Madrid remain at the head of the pack for the Spaniard's signature as Sevilla have pulled out of the race, but have yet to come to an agreement over the cost of a proposed loan arrangement, with an option to buy and wage contributions still being thrashed out.

Chelsea are also looking to offload Michy Batshuayi – valued at £40m ($51m) – on a permanent basis, though the most interested party, Monaco, had been hoping only to secure the Belgian's services on loan.

Monaco have agreed a deal to take over Batshuayi's loan spell with Valencia , but his parent club are exploring their options and have offered the striker to a variety of clubs, with Everton interested in a move for the 25-year-old.

The Toffees' valuation of Batshuayi falls well short of Chelsea's asking price, however, as the Merseyside club look to sign their man for around £18m ($23m).

Chelsea are also looking to sign a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, now at Monaco, and are locked in talks with Zenit for Leandro Paredes for what might be their only other incoming signing in January.

​Eden Hazard revealed that his late winner against Liverpool on Wednesday came in part from a desire to help N'Golo Kante avoid taking part in a penalty shootout. 

With the game tied 1-1, the Chelsea star netted a brilliant individual goal in the 85th minute of a Carabao Cup third round tie at Anfield. 

Hazard's brilliant goal continued a red-hot start to the season for the 27-year-old, who has now scored six times in seven appearances in all competitions.

The late strike condemned the Reds to their first defeat of the season, with the Belgian's goal holding up in a 2-1 win for the visitors. 

Had the game ended in a draw it would have gone straight to penalties, a fact that Hazard apparently had at the forefront of this thinking. 

When asked by Sky Sports what went through his mind prior to the goal, Hazard cited a conversation he had with his team-mate, who entered the match as a second-half substitute. 

“I spoke with N’Golo on the bench and he told me he didn’t want to take a penalty, so the only solution was to score!” Hazard said. 

Hazard's novel idea sent Chelsea through and gave his side a psychological advantage heading into a rematch at the weekend in league play.

"I have scored some goals like that! Not all the time," he told Chelsea TV.  

"It is on the top of the list, top 3. I remember around two years ago, the one against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. That one was nice.

"This one also is one of the best, especially when you score against a big team and win the game. That's the most important thing."

The Blues host the league leaders at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, looking to leapfrog Liverpool in the table with another victory. 

"I think this game was more to have the confidence in three days time," Hazard continued. 

"We won so in the league we will change some players, they will change some players but we want to win again. Especially in front of our fans at Stamford Bridge. It is going to be a good day for us, I hope."

The Reds opened up Saturday’s Premier League fixtures with a 2-1 win over Tottenham at Wembley Stadium , which made it five wins in five games so far this season for the Anfield club.

Chelsea not only kept pace against Cardiff but,  through a 4-1 home victory against the Bluebirds , actually moved top of the table on goal difference.

A perfect start through five games is not unheard of in the Premier League as Chelsea themselves have done it four times, though both of Liverpool’s previous five-for-five came in the old First Division.

However, for two teams to manage it is unheard of — this is first season in Premier League history where a pair of clubs managed perfect starts through five games.

While the Premier League only dates back to 1992-93, it requires a long trek through history to find the last time any English top-flight duo managed it.

The last time it happened was 110 years ago, back in the 1908-09 season. Prior to that it had happened in 1905-06.

3 - This is the third time in English top-flight history, and first time in 110 years, that two clubs have won their opening five games of the season (1905-06 and 1908-09). Antique.

More history could have be made on Saturday as Watford also began the season perfectly, with four wins in four. Another three points would have seen a trio-teams start perfectly through five for the first time ever in English top-flight history but it was not to be as Manchester United downed the Hornets 2-1. 

Both Liverpool and Chelsea will face European fixtures midweek, before the Reds try to make it six for six against Southampton at Anfield next week, while the Blues visit London rivals West Ham.

Should both clubs come away with three points, at least one will have their streak stopped the following weekend as they face off against one another at Stamford Bridge on September 29 — after meeting in a midweek Carabao Cup fixture three days before.

"I get on with everyone very well, the communication with the defence is going well, even during the competition," Courtois said.

"In training, you see that the level is high."

"I am now experiencing on a daily basis that Sergio Ramos is the best centre-back in the world."

"The level at Real Madrid is higher than at Chelsea."

Courtois also spoke about the differences between the Bernabeu and Stamford Bridge.

He added: "It’s twice as big, of course, it’s a very different feeling."

"If you look forward, you only see a wall of people while at Stamford Bridge you can still see the sky or the hotel behind the grandstand," he said.

"Of course, this was not the first time I’ve played here."

"I know the language and I know the stadium."

"The first few minutes against Leganes, I was stunned, but then I felt right."

​Eden Hazard intends to remain at Chelsea this year but offered no assurances about his future beyond that.

The Belgian playmaker hinted he may leave Stamford Bridge after the World Cup, yet while international colleague Thibaut Courtois has completed a switch to Real Madrid, Hazard's mooted move to the Spanish capital has not happened.

Indeed, a new contract offer is on the table for Hazard but it is understood that he remains reluctant to commit to a new deal at this stage, with the 27-year-old still having two years to run on his current contract.

The Spanish transfer window is open until August 31, but Hazard has dismissed the possibility of leaving before then given Chelsea would be unable to find a replacement until January. And he has also made it clear that he doesn't want to sign a new contract at this stage.

"You know what I said after the World Cup. I'm happy here, I do not want to talk about that yet," he told RMC Sport after Chelsea beat Arsenal 3-2.

"Many things have been said - nonsense and everything.

"For now, I'm happy. I still have two years of contract [left] and we'll see what happens. I will not leave [this year].

"The transfer window in England is already closed. We can sell but we cannot sign players.

"It would be a bit strange for [Chelsea] to let me go and not recruit another player.

"We could see [against Arsenal] that the fans like me a lot. I feel good here. We'll see what happens in a year or two years."

Hazard was again impressive off the bench against Arsenal as he came on as a second-half substitute and set up the winning goal for Marcos Alonso in a 3-2 victory for the Blues.

BREAKING: Transfer shocker as Thibaut Courtois is set to join Real Madrid for free

​​Thibaut Courtois has told ​Chelsea that he will not extend his contract with the club and will leave as a free agent next summer - unless they agree to complete his transfer to Real Madrid by the end of the transfer window.

Chelsea are now running out of time to decide whether to give up the Belgian without an adequate replacement coming in, or to reject the £35m offer from the European champions and lose Courtois with no compensation next year.

​The Sun has reported that the club has been desperately trying to persuade Courtois to sign a new long-term deal and reject the offer from Los Blancos. However the World Cup golden glove winner says he has no such intention, preferring a move back to Madrid this summer or next.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri wa​nts to speak personally with the wantaway keeper to try and dissuade him from leaving. However, as Courtois will return to training only two days before the transfer window closes, it seems unlikely that Sarri will be able to convince him to remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer 2019 expiration date.

What complicates the matter even more for Chelsea is that they have decided on a budget of £20m for a replacement, and at this late stage in the transfer season will be hard-pressed to find someone even close to the level of Courtois.

The Blues' pickings are slim, with possible targets Kasper Schmeichel and Jack Butland being way above their budget, Chelsea may find themselves left with Joe Hart who is valued at under £5m.

The Belgian international has made it clear that his mind is made up. The time to jump ship seems ripe due to Chelsea's struggles in the league last year failing to qualify for the Champions League, coupled with Courtois' desire to be closer to his young family in Madrid.

Real are said to have accepted the fact that Neymar won’t be joining them this summer but president Florentino Perez remains keen to bring the Brazilian to the club at some point.

Chelsea want a replacement for Thibaut Courtois before they let the Belgian goalkeeper join Real.

The UEFA Super Cup will be used to see whether Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are enough to lead the attack.
