Los Blancos clearly knows that signing Alonso won’t be like eating a cake given that Chelsea is now restricted to sign his replacement until January at the very earliest. However, now according to Spanish publications AS, the Spaniard is attracting interests from Los Blancos and a deal could happen given that the Spanish transfer window closes on 31st August.
AS understands that the Pensioners are willing to do business if Real cough up £54million for the left-back. The Los Blancos boss has been impressed with Alonso’s performances at the Stamford Bridge this season. Seeing his performances, it has been reported that Lopetegui has demanded the Bernabeu chiefs to snap up Marcos Alonso from Chelsea in order to bolster their defense.
Chelsea bought Alonso from Fiorentina in a £25million deal on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2016 in what was widely considered, at the time, to be something of a panic purchase. But since that, he has proved himself as the player without whom Chelsea can’t do.
Alonso is one of the top-scoring defenders in Europe’s top five leagues — and is now proving himself as one of the Premier League’s best ever goalscorers from the back. And now according to Spanish publications AS, Alonso is attracting interests from Real Madrid. AS reports that Lopetegui is desperate for Bernabeu chiefs to sign a new left-back and Alonso is on his wishlist.
The Pensioners will now be back in action on Sunday when they travel to St. James Park to take on the Magpies.
